Mason Announces Winners Of Fire Safety Contest

MASON, Oh. -- The City of Mason Fire Department announced the student winners of the annual fire safety poster contest Wednesday.

The contest recognizes students who demonstrate an understanding of the issues related to fire safety education and who have an ability to visually portray that knowledge.

The 2009 fourth grade winning posters were by Stephanie Schoenlein, Lexie Lucius, Avery Brown, Sean Sullivan, Fatima Khan, Kaitlin Lewis, Jordan Kling, Bradley Tripp, Sophie Bause, Allison Jones, Phoebe Huang, Caitlin Norrie, Jenna Crass, Mariana Vinseiro, Kaitlyn Woods, Calli Rinaldo, Olivia Woods, Meredith Schulz, and Anna Estes.

All the winning entries were by fourth grade students of art teacher Maggie Moschell at Mason Intermediate School.

The poster by fourth grader Schoenlein was selected for further competition and will be entered in the contest held by the State Fire Marshall’s Office for the Fall 2010 Fire Safety Calendar. Final state winners will be announced in the spring.
