An investigation is underway after a man was hit and killed by a train in Arlington Heights Friday morning.
Police say the man was hit along the Norfolk Southern Railroad tracks near the intersection of Arlington Avenue and Mill Street around 7:30 a.m.
The engineer of the train told police he saw someone laying on the tracks moments before the accident. He was able to stop the train quickly.
Police say the man lived in the neighborhood. They have not released his name.
