WARREN COUNTY, Ohio -- Investigators say a fight among several people is to blame for a man's death in Turtlecreek Township.
Deputies responded to a home in the 1140 block of Oregonia Road just before 3 a.m. Tuesday to find Charles Needham, 61, laying in the driveway.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office says a fight took place among four people in the driveway after a party. Investigators say Needham was struck in the face during the fight and fell striking his head on the driveway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
However, a witness who called 911 told the dispatcher that Needham fell off a car and hit his head around 3 a.m.
Here's a transcript of part of the call made to the Warren County Dispatch Center.
Caller: "We had a friend over and he fell and busted and knocked down on his head and everything.
Operator: Ok. Where did he fall from?
Caller: Off the car.
Operator: He fell off of the car?
Caller: Off the car. Off the back of the car, yeah. He was drinking and he fell off the back of the car. "A 17-year-old male from Price Hill has been charged with one count of involuntary manslaughter. He is being held at the Warren County Juvenile Detention Center.
The sheriff's office also confirms a black Chevy Camaro was towed away from the scene earlier in the day. That car had dents on one side. Officials say the car may only have a "loose connection" with the homicide.
