Man Charged In Fatal Motorcycle Accident

WHITEWATER TWP., Ohio -- The man whose motorcylce crashed into a woman's car as she pulling into her driveway is being charged with aggravated vehicular homicide after she was killed.

The accident occurred just before 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22.

According to a report release by the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office, Lynda S. Colegate, 55, of Cleves, Ohio was traveling northbound on S.R. 128 when she attempted to make a left turn into her driveway.

Bobby J. Luke, 27, of Aurora, Ind. was traveling northbound on S. R. 128 at a high rate of speed on his motorcycle in a reckless manner when he attempted to pass several vehicles in an area that was not designated for passing.

Luke’s motorcycle struck the driver side of Colegate’s vehicle.

Whitewater Township EMS responded to the scene and transported Luke to University Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Colegate was pronounced dead at the scene.

Speed and alcohol were both factors in this crash. No safety restraint device was used by either driver.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit.
