The storms from Thursday night and early Friday morning have created major power outages for the city of Hamilton.

About 90 percent of the city is currently without power, including the government buildings.

Multiple government buildings, including the Coroner's Office, have closed for the day.  They are reportedly talking about bringing generators into the Butler County Jail.

As of 12:45 p.m., there are over 5,000 Duke Energy customers in Butler County without power.

The Butler County Administrator says they are not sure how long it will take for power to be restored to everyone.

Power has been knocked out to all of High Street, the main road in Hamilton.  Police are staged at every intersection on High Street to direct traffic.

Remember to treat every darkened traffic light as a 4-way stop.
