Macy's is blaming a computer glitch for causing a big problem for customers who used their debit cards on one of the biggest shopping weekends of the month.

The company says a system error caused some debit cards to be double billed. The mistake also caused some customers to have overdrafts on their accounts.

The glitch happened December 20 between 1 p.m. and 2:45 p.m. If you were affected by the glitch, you need to fax your bank statement to Macy's at (513)573-2433.

Customers need to write "Attention: third party credit" on the bill. The company will correct any overdraft charges or double billing caused by the problem.

Company officials recommend that you block out your account number on the statement before faxing it.
