Local School Districts Ask Voters To Support Levies Tuesday

Last Update: 5/04 7:56 pm
Thousands of Tri-State students and their parents will be keeping a close eye on election results Tuesday night as school districts try to maintain or gain funding.

Those school districts include West Clermont, Clermont Northeastern, Winton Woods, Sycamore, Forest Hills, Williamsburg, Little Miami, Sycamore, Bethel-Tate and Springboro.

Most of those school districts have endured cuts and are hoping voters will help them stop the hemorrhaging in funding.

Behel-Tate Schools, for example, haven't asked voters for new money in 20 years.

But West Clermont and Williamsburg, by contrast, have gone through several levy failures of late forcing layoffs and program cuts not to mention "user fees" students have to pay for certain programs.

In the Forest Hills school district, administrators and some office staff have agreed to a wage freeze in an effort to try and convince voters they're deserving of their support.

Polls open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 7:30 p.m.
