Over the years, both Palestinian and Israeli children have been caught up in the Middle East violence.

As national president of the Jewish National Fund, local attorney Stan Chesley has made several trips to Sderot in Israel.

Chesley has been part of a major fundraising effort to build a $3 million indoor playground so the Israeli children will have a safe place to play.

He showed the media one of the rockets fired by Hamas militants.

"When I was there in February and I met with the young children and nobody was on the streets, I asked the mayor what do they do after school. They go home. I said what we want to do is build an inside playground," Chesley explained from his downtown offices in Cincinnati.

Majed Dabdoub of the Islamic Association of Cincinnati says there are no plans to build an indoor playground for Palestinian children in the Gaza Strip.

He says the people there barely have money to buy food.

Dabdoub says his sister's children have not been outside in 11 days.
