Lebanon City Council is expected to decide Wednesday if it will pay for repairs to two railroad bridges along the track used by the Lebanon, Mason, and Monroe Railroad.
The tracks used by the excursion train are owned by the city. If city leaders vote to pay for the $400,000 repairs, other city projects will have to be cut.
During an annual inspection, federal investigators determined the bridges must be repaired. The owners of the LM&M railroad tell 9News they'd like to stay in Lebanon because of the city's charm, but if the repairs aren't paid for they will move to Mason where the tracks do not need repairs.
The next season for LM&M railroad begins in April. If Lebanon city leaders agree to pay for the repairs the train would operate out of downtown Cincinnati until the repairs are done this summer.
