Several federal and local investigators are on the scene of a large immigration bust at a business in Fairfield.

As of now, over 160 suspected illegal immigrants are in custody after the raid was conducted.

Our 9News crew on the scene reported more than 300 federal agents, sheriff's investigators, police officers and ICE agents are conducting an large-scale investigation at Koch Foods on Port Union Road.

At least five large transport buses arrived at Koch Foods around 10:30 a.m. after what police said was two-year long investigation of the company.

ICE agents are looking to find out if the workers inside are legal or illegal, and if they have permits allowing them to work in the United States.

The agents said they expected more than 100 arrests of illegal workers at the business, and possibly some supervisors who they say knowingly hired the workers.

Veteran 9News photographer Chic Poppe said this is the largest ICE presence he has seen in years.

Officers said some employees scattered and may be hiding in places inside the building where there is very little oxygen.

ICE agents found 12 workers hiding in a freezer, and five of them were taken to the hospital.

It is unclear what kind of injuries they suffered from, if any.

Koch has approximately 400 employees working at the Fairfield location.

9News was first on the scene and has several crews working this story.

ICE agents have set up a hotline for family and friends to provide information about the custody status of their loved ones, and for them to get the detention locations of the arrested individuals.

That number is 1-866-341-3858.
