A packed crowd is expected in Union Township Monday night where the school board will discuss the future of Brenda Slaby

A packed crowd is expected in Union Township Monday night where the school board will discuss the future of Brenda Slaby.

Both police and fire departments will be on hand to deal with crowd control.

The school board meets in the same room as the township trustees.

There are 93-seats available to the public and if you don't get a seat, you will have to wait outside.

One important note, however, the board will not be taking any public comments Monday night.

Board members for West Clermont School District will begin their meeting at 7 p.m.

Included on the agenda, the employment of Brenda Slaby.

The assistant principal has been on paid leave.

Prosecutors say Slaby's two-year-old daughter Cecilia died after Slaby forgot to take her out of her car which was parked at the school.

While the board weighs their options, some parents already have their opinions.

"I know as a parent with my kids in the district, I wouldn't feel comfortable with it, just knowing something happens with her and trusting her with my kids. I couldn't see it," says Rich Leiman, a Union Township parent.

"As much as it outrages people, and I feel like something should happen, I feel like her living with that is punishment enough and I don't know that other punishments are going to make anything any better," says Sam Harley, a Union Township parent.

Dr. Gary Brooks, the superintendent, has issued a statement, saying:

"The Board of Education plans to adjourn into private, executive session to discuss the employment of Mrs. Nesselroad-Slaby. It has been the policy of the Board not to discuss personnel matters in open session. Consistent with this practice, the Board will not answer any questions or publicly comment on the employment of Mrs. Nesslroad-Slaby."

Any comments, questions or concerns regarding this matter should be reduced to writing and directed to the Superintendent at:

    or send to:

The board does not plan to take any action regarding Slaby's employment Monday night.

A candlelight vigil is also set for for Cecilia Slaby Monday night at 8 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park on Clough Pike in Union Township.
