Peace2All, You raise a very valid question and I have often wondered myself why they list certain peoples occupations when they announce they have been charged with a crime. I guess maybe it is because certain people in specific occupations tend to be held to a higher standard, we expect them to behave themselves. Unfortunately, all are human and all are capable of anything.

Wow Megan Wassmun and "Bren-don KEEF" that is some lazy reporting. i see the whole story on channel 12 at 11 their guy was live outside this dude's home with the scoop of what he did and how he did it. i check 9 news and it's "no word" blah blah blah. maybe if you left the little studio you'd find out.

I live in Independence and our PD is one of the best! I lived in Cincinnati for 30 years (before I moved here) and I NEVER saw Cincy's PD out talking to kids, giving up their own time to host an (awesome) citizen's police academy, fundraising for the community and just being a presence out in the community. Just because you may have a joke of a PD in your town...don't generalize ours! People of ALL walks can be creeps... Thank you to ALL of OUR BRAVE PD, FIREFIGHTERS....etc!

Long your an idiot ! You should educate yourself about DV laws before embarrassing yourself ! Fell free to fill out an application for your local PD and lets see how long you last !

The issue of domestic violence aside, what does the fact that this person was a firefighter have to do with this crime? If he was NOT acting in his official capacity as a firefighter, what does it have to do with it? People have personal lives too. If he was a welder, would the story headline be "KY Welder Charged with Attempted Murder"? Is this just more mainstream media sensationalism? Why not list EVERYONE'S occupation when submitting these types of stories? I realize that when on the job, he is responsible for "saving" lives, but I seem to remember other stories that do NOT involve violent crimes where the media seems to make sure they tell the reader it was a firefighter, doctor, police officer etc. And here as I finish writing this, I notice the breaking news headline near the top of the page "Anderson Twp. Doctor Accused of Assaulting Wife"....Oh never mind... LOL!

it comes down to the facts that cops look for injuries. If you claim you've been abused and there isnt a mark on you, what does that tell them? Cops are dumb, yes, but women (mccarty comes to mind) who swear they have been abused but no marks make it harder for yall. If dude is still in the can, which he is, it got ugly. Callin 5 0 cause your pissed weakens the system for all. I'm male and have been assaulted, but never to the point of calling the law.
