An Independence, Kentucky firefighter is behind bars charged with attempted murder.

Police were called to Richard Noah's home around 4 a.m. Monday morning for a domestic incident. Officials say Noah allegedly tried to kill his wife.

It is still unclear how Noah tried to commit the crime, or if he used a weapon.

He was arrested Wednesday evening and is in the Kenton County Jail.

Noah is an EMT and a member of the Independence Fire Department.

The case is currently under investigation by the Independence Police Department.
