A London, Ky., couple was pulled over Sunday evening for a warrant for traffic fines, but police did a search of their car and found more than traffic tickets.
At approximately 4:15 p.m. Deputy Dan Delaney stopped Max Burd, 27 and Deborah Burd, 25, on southbound I-75 at the 177-mile marker leaving the rest area,
A search of the vehicle revealed six pounds of processed marijuana and 1,251 assorted pills, some of which were Methadone, Loritab and Endocet.
The Burds were charged with trafficking marijuana, a Class C felony, trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree, a Class C felony, and trafficking in controlled substance 2nd degree, a Class D felony.
Additionally, Deborah was lodged for the Whitley County warrant. Each posted a $5,000 cash bond Monday.
