The
Kenton County Public Library was ranked No. 1 among Kentucky’s libraries for the second year in a row, according to a national survey.
A recently issued survey by
Hennen’s American Public Library Ratings Index compared data submitted by more than 9,000 libraries across the nation and evaluated 116 libraries in Kentucky. The survey took into account 15 factors and focused on each library’s circulation, staffing, materials, reference service and funding levels. The Kenton County Public Library ranked first in the state
“It is an honor to be named the No. 1 library in the state,” executive director Dave Schroeder said in a release issued by the library. “It is our goal to provide great customer service, an excellent collection, an outstanding staff, innovative programming and exceptional online services. It is very exciting to be recognized publicly for these services. This achievement could not have been possible without the wonderful support we receive from the residents of Kenton County.”
“Being ranked the No. 1 library in the state is really a tribute to the community, library’s staff, volunteers, Board of Trustees and Foundation Board,” Schroeder said of the HALPR Index which provides library systems a comparative ranking system that they can use to evaluate and improve areas of service.
The Kenton County Public Library has three locations –
