CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati police have made an arrest in connection to a rock throwing incident along Columbia Parkway that left a young woman seriously injured.

On June 14, 23-year-old Joyce Baresel suffered multiple injuries, including a fractured skull, when a rock came through the open window of the cab in which she was riding and struck her in the head.

Baresel remained in the hospital for two weeks until her release on Monday.

According to police, someone threw several rocks at the roadway that night, striking multiple vehicles, but Baresel was the only person injured.

On the evening of June 30, the day after her release, police arrested a 16-year-old male in connection to the crime. His name has not been released because of his age. According to police, he confessed to his involvement. He has been charged with felonious assault.

Police have also named 18-year-old Joseph Burdine as a suspect. He is still on the run. He has also been charged with felonious assault. Authorities hope someone knows of his whereabouts.

According to police, the juvenile does not believe he was the one who threw the rock that injured Baresel. The juvenile told police he feels bad for what happened.

District Two Violent Crimes Squad officers are continuing to investigate the incident and look into the possible involvement of other persons.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (513)352-3040 or text tips to (513)352-3050.
