Warren County Judge James Heath was found dead Sunday in his Hamilton Township home.
Officials say Heath's wife made the discovery hours after the late judge was arrested for drunk driving for the second time.
Officials say Heath's body was found shortly before 2 p.m. in the master bedroom of his home. Calls to his phone went unanswered which prompted his wife to go over to the home on Nunner Road.
"There was no obvious trauma. This case is being investigated as a suicide," said Lt. Jeff Braley of the Hamilton Township Police Department.
Braley described himself as a good friend of the late judge, "I feel Warren County lost a good man and a good judge."
Braley declined to comment about the scene around Heath's body.
"I'm really having a hard time with this," Braley said, "he was a good friend and he will be missed."
Heath was also arrested for drunk driving in Clinton County in October of last year. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of reckless driving.
Heath is survived by his wife and three children.
The incident remains under investigation.
