Jeff Ruby is starting a local initiative to help the victim of a rock-throwing incident and they're asking for the community to get involved.

During the month of October, Jeff Ruby's Precinct restaurant will raise money for Joyce Baresel, the woman injured in the June rock throwing incident along Columbia Parkway.

Baresel suffered numerous injuries when a rock came through the window of a taxi she was riding in and hit her in the head.

She now has extensive medical bills, in which Jeff Ruby wants to lower with the fundraiser. They are also offering a good deal in return if you make a donation.

Here's how it works:  Starting Monday, Ruby will offer Precinct diners gift cards equal to the amount of any donation made to Baresel, starting at $25.

The gift cards can be used at The Precinct, Waterfront, Carlo & Johnny, Bootsy's and Jeff Ruby's Steakhouse.

"Joyce is an innocent victim of a senseless crime" said Ruby. "I'm am hoping the community will join The Precinct in helping her with medical costs."
