Evendale Police have recovered a silver car that may be tied to a I-75 drive-by shooting and auto accident that claimed the lives of two Westwood men early Wednesday morning.
The vehicle was recovered in Lincoln Heights about 12 hours after the gunfire in the southbound lanes of the heavily traveled interstate highway near Glendale-Milford Road.
Killed were 25-year old Keith Cobb and 25-year old Scott Heblett Jr., both of Westwood. They were in a vehicle that was struck by a barrage of bullets and then crashed.
Evendale Police Chief Gary Foust said officers were dispatched at 2:43 a.m. for a report of an auto accident with injuries.
Within a minute, callers to 911 reported that gunshots had been fired and that it was likely someone was dead.
One of the callers gave a description of a silver vehicle.
Investigators theorize the gunplay and crash started with some sort of dispute at The Garage Sports Bar and Grill on Crown Pointe Drive in Sharonville.
Sharonville Police Lieutenant John Cook said officers normally are assigned to the club at closing time to help clear traffic from the area.
He added that everything seemed to be in order Wednesday morning.
"We have nothing that was reported to us as far as any assaults or anything like this," said Lt. Cook. "Nobody threatening anybody with a weapon. None of that happened that we're aware of."
One of the co-owners of The Garage is former UC basketball star Corey Blount, who is facing drug charges at the present time.
