Interest continues to grow this morning in an open job fair organized by a new outlet mall opening next month in Monroe.

Even a full half-hour before the doors to Monroe High School were due to open for the job fair, there were already over 100 job seekers patiently waiting in line outside the main entrance.

Job applicants started arriving at the high school on Yankee Road in Monroe just after 6 Tuesday morning.

Job fair organizers expect they may see as many as 5,000 applicants during the 12 hour job fair, which runs until 8 Tuesday night.

The fair is being held at the high school since the mall itself is still under construction as it heads for an early August opening.

Representatives for about 60 of the new Cincinnati Premium Outlet Mall's merchants will be on hand, looking to fill all kinds of positions, from clerks and store managers, to security and janitors.

Some job seekers are getting a little extra help getting to the job fair from the Butler County Transit Authority. It has set up reserve seats on special shuttles to the high school to help applicants who don't have their own transportation.

Since several merchants say they may make some hires on the spot, many of these job seekers have come in business clothes, with resumes at the ready, in order to make a good first impression.

We'll continue to update the progress of the job fair for you, with stories here at wcpo.com and on 9News.
