Many roads in Warren County will see additional traffic patrols this upcoming Fourth of July weekend.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office says deputies will be out aggressively enforcing traffic violations - particularly speeding, seat belt infractions and DUI/alcohol violations from July 2-5.
Sheriff Larry Sims advises drivers to drive defensively during the upcoming weekend. "I can not stress enough the importance of defensive driving during this extended holiday weekend. I urge drivers to be aware of other drivers and conditions around them. Parents need to make sure their little ones are in their car seats and securely seatbelted. Plan ahead if you plan to drink and have an alternate plan or a designated driver. We will be watching. Let’s have a joyful and safe weekend."
The increase in patrols is being funded by a grant from STEP (Selective Traffic Enforcement Program). STEP grants are provided by the State of Ohio Department of Public Safety.
