COLLEGE HILL, Ohio -- A local high school student is facing charges after a gun was allegedly found in a locker on Tuesday.
Cincinnati Public School officials say another student at Aiken College and Career High School reported that he saw a classmate showing off a handgun to other students around 9:30 a.m.
That caused the principal to call Cincinnati police and have school security officers locate the student. When officers approached the student, identified as Terron Cornelison, 18, he took off running but was apprehended minutes later.
Officials placed the school on lockdown after Cornelison ran from officers.
One of the security guards suffered a minor injury while trying to apprehend Cornelison.
Police say they found the gun in a locker.
CPS officials say Cornelison will likely be recommended for expulsion.
There were no injuries to students and the school returned to normal operations shortly after the incident.
Cornelison is charged with inducing panic and possession of a firearm on school property.
Police have not released any other information.
