Ground is being broken this month on the new 45,000 square-foot Good Samaritan Medical Center at Western Ridge on Cincinnati's West Side.

The facility, which is located near the Harrison Avenue/Rybolt Road exit off I-74, will offer health care services and physician offices, including a 24-hour emergency department.

Other features include:

  • full-service emergency department
  • ambulance access
  • helipad
  • X-ray imaging
  • CT scans
  • 24-hour lab
  • MRI technology
  • mammography
  • primary care physicians
  • specialist physicians

Building construction is scheduled to begin this fall with an anticipated opening in the fall of 2010. Road improvements will also be done with this project.

“The single most important component of TriHealth’s mission and strategy is to serve our communities,” said John Prout, president and CEO of TriHealth and Good Samaritan Hospital. “The Western Ridge complex allows us to bring Good Samaritan-quality services into the backyards of West Side residents and also provides room to respond to that community’s needs well into the future.”

“Good Samaritan Hospital is already an important health care provider to patients on the west side of Cincinnati, and the new medical center at Western Ridge shows our dedication to those patients by responding to their demand for better access to our quality services,” said David Dornheggen, vice president and chief operating officer of Good Samaritan Hospital.

The Good Samaritan Medical Center at Western Ridge is the first phase of a larger medical complex. Good Samaritan will retain an additional site for future growth, while three other lots will be sold for complementary medical or retail development. The additional lots have the potential to bring more than 150 new jobs to Green Township.
