DEARBORN CO., Ind. -- The Greendale Police Department wasn't saying much Tuesday night after the death of 12-year-old Cooper Rawat.

The boy's mother found him "unresponsive" on a couch at their Oakey Avenue home Tuesday morning.

The Dearborn County Special Crimes Unit is assisting the Greendale Police Department in investigating the death.

Rawat was a 6th grader at Greendale Middle School until two months ago, when his mom started home-schooling him.

Neighbors tell 9News he played baseball, and loved dogs and skateboarding.

A friend says Rawat had bruises on his body over the weekend. Injuries, he says, Rawat blamed on a skateboarding accident.

Rawat lived with his mom and step-dad, and often spent weekends with his father.

Several family members and neighbors were questioned by police Tuesday, but no arrests have been made.

The 12-year-old's body is at the Dearborn County Coroner's office.

Many of the lingering questions into his death should be answered when the autopsy is complete.
