Time is running out to purchase a 2009 Hamilton County Dog License. Every dog over the age of three months must have a license by January 31 of every year according to a new Ohio law.

Licenses purchased before January 31, 2009 are $13.75. The price of the license doubles after January 31, 2009.

Dog owners who fail to purchase a license for their dog by January 31, 2009 may also be subject to a $105 fine.

This great opportunity will be during Pet ID Day, Saturday, January 24 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the SPCA Cincinnati Humane Center, 11900 Corney Road, Sharonville.

SPCA Cincinnati also will be offering free rabies shots for your dog with the purchase of a Hamilton County dog license. Rabies shots are also free for cats with a small donation of choice to SPCA Cincinnati.

There will also be discounted microchip implantations available. Microchipping and registration for one cat or dog is $15, a savings of around $60.

With a small microchip (about the size of a grain of rice) implanted under the skin, a pet can be traced back to its owner if found and turned in to an animal shelter, including SPCA Cincinnati.

These offers are good only at SPCA Cincinnati’s Sharonville location.
