The Hamilton County Job and Family Services announced Wednesday they are cutting 25 jobs.

The layoffs are part of statewide budget cuts, according to a HCJFS spokesman.

Earlier in the week, county commissioners announced hundreds of county jobs could be on the chopping block by the end of the 2008.

County commissioners say they have to cut a projected $40 million from the 2009 budget.

"The positions eliminated are support personnel like administrative assistants and other office workers," said Brian Gregg.

Gregg tells 9News the agency will continue to lay people off through the month of December.

Gregg says no front-line social workers were affected.

By the end of 2009 Gregg says HCJFS must lose 350 positions.
