Families Can Apply For Heating Assistance Today

Bond Hill, Ohio -- Families in need of assistance with heating their homes this winter can start applying on Monday.

The Cincinnati-Hamilton County Community Action Agency is accepting applications for its Emergency Home Energy Assistance Program or HEAP.

Emergency HEAP provides assistance for families who are facing disconnection or have less than a 25 percent supply of bulk fuel to heat their homes.

Eligible applicants can apply between November 2 through March 31, 2010.

To be eligible, you must live in Hamilton County and earn a household income at or below 200 percent of the federal poverty guidelines.

Individuals must bring the following documentation when applying for assistance for all programs:

-Proof of income for all members of the household for the past 90 days
-Social Security Cards for all members of the household
-Photo identification for individual applying for the benefit (name must appear on bill)
-Current Utility bill showing a disconnect notice


CAA is accepting walk-ins Monday through Friday at 8 a.m. Appointments are not available.
