Julias: You're right, but it does have the same properties as Zyban, only in a more severe way! That's why it's not labeled for depression! Zyban is a better alternative to Chantix for the cessation of smoking, but like I said before, "when you start prescribing anti-depressants to people for the cessation of smoking with no signs of depression, things can be expected to backfire!!" I'm glad that the two of you stopped without any of the dangerous side effects!! It's probably only a small percentage of people who would have those problems.

I agree! I took Chantix for about 6 weeks and I haven't touched a cigarette in a 1 1/2. I did act a little nutzo but I think that was just withdrawls.

I don't think Chantix is an anti-depressant. I took it for 10 weeks and haven't had a cigarette in 3 years. It was worth it to me!!

Go to your local Wal-Mart and buy their Equate brand of patches they work great. My dad and mom smoked 60+ years and went on the patch and they both quit smoking. My husband is also on the patch and he is doing great.

Guess if the smokes don't kill you the proposed solution will. May as well smoke and enjoy yourself. Better than being depressed all the time.

Well yeah, when you start prescribing anti-depressants to people for the cessation of smoking with no signs of depression, things can be expected to backfire!! DUH!!
