The Erlanger Police Department will be the first in the Tri-State to use new equipment technology so small, it can fit on an officer's uniform.

The small camera, which can hold up to four hours of video, is the world's smallest video camera, only the size of a pack of gum.

The department purchased 50 cameras which cost less than $100 per device.

Erlanger police say it makes more sense to use these cameras because they are cheaper and they will be able to record all police contact, unlike their cruiser cam alternatives.

Other Northern Kentucky departments have purchased the cameras after viewing the research Erlanger provided and will utilize them once they receive the devices.
