FLORENCE, Ky. -- A Northern Kentucky apartment building is badly damaged after a fire early Saturday morning.
The fire broke out around 3:15 a.m. at Woodspring Apartments at Mt. Zion Road.
Approximately 100 firefighters responded to the scene.
Officials say that there were at least two people transported to University Hospital for smoke inhalation. It is unclear the extent of their injuries.
Of the 24 apartment units in the building, 12 were completely destroyed by the fire. The 12 remaining units sustained damage due to smoke and heavy water from crews fighting the flames.
The Red Cross also responded to the scene to aid victims.
It is still unclear what caused the blaze to begin.
