The hum of chain saws filled Glengariff Street in Anderson Township Thursday night, as Duke Energy crews worked to clear heavily iced-over tree limbs from power lines.
Duke Energy contractors have been working 16 to 18-hour shifts.
Adam and Leigh Hayward were so thankful to see them out front that they brought out a Thermos of coffee for everyone.
"I don't know how long they've been out something warm in the cold and I know I'd rather have something warm" said Adam Hayward.
"It was just amazing" said Leigh Hayward. "I called it in last night and here they are today to get it taken care of."
"I wasn't expecting it for another couple days at least," said Hayward. "I'm very appreciative they were out here tonight getting it done."
Duke Energy Supervisor Doug Wooten says they focused a lot of resources on Clermont County today.
"There was a concerted effort to restore service to as many people as we could," said Wooten. "We restored service to the neighborhood here and we're gonna do some follow-up work that we have to do to make this safe."
A little bit of appreciation goes a long way for the crew members, who worked about 18-hours straight on Thursday, and after eight hours off, will be right back out here to do it all again on Friday.
"We've had crews come in from different locations, different states for mutual assistance," said Wooten, "and we'll have crews on all night and crews on tomorrow as well."
