Duke Energy Kentucky will permanently close its office and payment center in the Newport Shopping Center center next week.
A company spokesperson says Duke is trying to streamline and cut overhead costs, but employees at the Newport office will be transferred and no one will lose their jobs.
The office will close on Friday, September 11.
Customers can also make a payment at the Ameristop on Monmouth Street.
