CINCINNATI - Clermont and Butler counties had the most driving under suspension (DUS) arrests in Southwest Ohio over the past three years, according to new statistics released by the Ohio State Patrol Thursday. Troopers made 84,632 DUS arrests statewide from 2006 through 2008.
The Patrol’s Statistical Analysis Unit found that during this three-year period troopers made 2,170 DUS arrests in Clermont County and 2,153 arrests in Butler County.
Hamilton County falls far behind with 1,748 arrests, and troopers arrested 1,381 drivers out of compliance in Warren County.
But when it comes to traffic fatalities so far in 2009, Hamilton County leads the way in our region, with 31 deaths. Butler had 14, Warren 10, and Clermont seven.
The statistics also show that the vast majority of the Patrol’s DUS arrests throughout the state are 35 years old or younger, with 34 percent 25 years old or below and an another 34 percent between the ages of 26 – 35.
