Restaurants and bars in Crestview Hills say they now have a fair playing field against their competition in neighboring towns.
They will now be able to sell alcohol earlier and later in the day thanks to an ordinance passed by the Crestview Hills City Council.
This all comes as Crestview Hills has become a 4th-class city in Kentucky, and will now regulate liquor licensing.
The close the doors at 2:30 in the morning at
John Phillips Restaurant and Bar. Now they'll be able to sell alcohol until 2:30 a.m.
On Sundays, they will be allowed to start serving alcohol at 11:00 a.m. instead of waiting until Noon.
The folks at John Phillips Restaurant and Bar say the new measures will go a long way to improving business and staying competitive.
Brittany Whalen, the Bar Manager of the John Phillips Restaurant and Bar, says, "That means that a lot more people will want to come here and be able to drink during the Bengals games the Reds games any local games."
Whalen says it's a possibility that people go somewhere else knowing that they can't get served at her bar until Noon.
The changes will go into effect in July when businesses renew their liquor licenses.
