Web produced by: Kerry DukeDelta Air Lines canceled what was described as "a handful of flights" systemwide on Thursday to conduct further inspections of aircraft.
The cancellations were not expected to disrupt travel, according to Delta's Susan Elliott.
Delta officials say most passengers were informed as late as Wednesday that their flights would be canceled and were reassigned to other Delta flights.
"We've already accommodated all of them," Elliott said.
No problems were expected at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International due to the frequency of Delta flights. Delta along with its regional subsidiary Comair operates about 80 percent of the flights at Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky.
Airport spokesman Ted Bushelman said Thursday morning he was unaware of any problems with flights at the airport.
Meanwhile, American Airlines is in its third straight day of cancellations. More than 900 planes are grounded bringing the total number of canceled flights nationwide since Tuesday to 2,400. Those flights represent more than one-third of the airline's total schedule.
