When Philip Harvey's Army unit was stationed in Baghdad, he not only had the chance to meet Vice-President Joe Biden, he had his picture taken with him.
So, it was only natural Thursday that the Deer Park soldier traveled to Northside to see if he could get Mr. Biden to sign the photograph.
The vice president was in Cincinnati to defend the administration's $174 billion federal stimulus package -- $1.6 million of which will help convert the former American Can Factory into apartments, commercial and retail space.
"I never thought there would be much of a chance," Harvey said.
Nontheless, the photo found its way to the vice president after the speech and it was returned to Harvey signed in black marker.
Harvey said he was thrilled and said the vice president was very supportive of the troops during the Iraq visit. In fact, Harvey served with Biden's son.
"He didn't just visit," Harvey said of Mr. Biden. "He wanted to know if we had what we needed to do our jobs."
