A Mountain Dew can that a suspect allegedly left at the scene of a Cheviot burglary has come back to haunt him several months later.
Douglas McCarter, 20, of Cheviot, was arrested Sunday night after DNA results implicated him in the crime.
Investigators say they were able to swab the mouth area of the can, and his DNA was found, putting him at the scene on March 19.
Police say McCarter denies being in the apartment on Washington Avenue.
He was arraigned on Monday and given a $2,000 bond.
