The waiting list to get into the Clermont County jail to serve time has been reduced from more than 600 to about two dozen individuals. The jail now can hold up to 288 inmates.

As a result of budget cuts, many of those who need to serve time for their crimes will have to wait a little longer; however, the county has done its best to help out. The county issued more house arrests and community service to make up for the jail waiting list.

Future budget cuts for the jail could reduce the waiting list even more.
