The Clermont County Sheriff's Office recently lost a valuable member of its staff.  The female bloodhound "Buffy" was euthanized as a result of cancer.

For 10 years, Buffy was partners with Cpl. Chris Stratton.  Officials say after intense training, the duo quickly gained a noteworthy reputation.

Law enforcement agencies from Clermont, Hamilton, Brown, Adams, Highland counties and even Kentucky would call to request the team.

Some of Buffy's accomplishments include:
  • Tracking a stabbing suspect, who was hiding in an attic at a Felicity home.

  • Finding a severe diabetic who had ran into the woods in Batavia Township after using LSD.

  • Found the murder weapon in a double homicide in Sharonville.

Officials also say Buffy was an escape artist.  She would break out of any kennel she was placed in.  It caused quite a headache for her owner, but like any good dog, she always came back.

Buffy was 11-years-old.
