Cincinnati, Ky Posts Say Goodbye

A page has turned in the history of Cincinnati, as the final edition of the Cincinnati Post completed its printing.

After Monday, the red boxes that held the papers will be empty.

With the final printing of the Cincinnati and Kentucky Posts, the Enquirer becomes the only Cincinnati daily as 126 years of headlines comes to an end.

Since 1881 the Post has been on record with the news of the day. On Monday, the paper itself is the story, for the long time staffers and readers of the post, it was an emotional morning.

Workers who for years asked the tough questions had nothing to say as they watched silently as headlines faded into memories.

Photographers, editors, and publishers joined with the pressmen who for so many years made news.

Fresh paper rolled off the wheels for the last time. The furious hum of the press is now silent.

Robert Hartman of the Cincinnati Post said, "You lose voice.  You lose a lot of friends. Everybody my age looked to the post in the afternoon, now everything is geared to the morning."
