CINCINNATI -- Tri-State residents have a chance to experience an important piece of American history.

Starting Tuesday, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center will be showcasing a 1950 model GMC bus, which will be parked outside the front entrance.

The bus is the same model as the one Rosa Parks rode on that fateful day in Montgomery, Alabama in 1955.

Parks' refusal to move to the back of the bus sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott and, eventually, the end of Jim Crow segregation .

Visitors can board and sit in the bus from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. through this Sunday, June 21.

The bus, which is is owned and operated by the Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky (TANK), accompanies the exhibit 381 Days: The Montgomery Bus Boycott Story.

The timing of the exhibit also coincides with the Civil Rights game scheduled for Saturday at Great American Ballpark. Click here for more information about the game.
