There are a lot of questions right now surrounding the death of three family members inside their Brown County Home.

Sheriff investigators believe 38-year-old Lenny Planck may have shot and killed his wife and son before taking his own life.

One relative says the family can't believe he would actually shoot and kill his wife, let alone his 11-year-old son.

They describe 35-year-old Ruby Ann Fletcher Planck as a Christian woman who loved her family.

Ruby Ann, her son Austin, and husband, Lenny were found dead in their beds.

Investigators say Ruby Ann's 14-year-old son returned home Sunday around 7:30 p.m., but couldn't get in and called police.

Deputies had to force their way inside the McGohan Road home and discovered the victims.

Neighbors say they never heard any commotion or suspected the couple was having any problems.

"It's just like my heart hit the ground. I couldn't believe it. I didn't sleep all night or anything thinking about all of this," said neighbor Janice Gray. "I wouldn't have thought something like this would happen in your neighborhood."

Eleven-year-old Austin Planck attended Georgetown Elementary School.

Teachers say he was a good student. Everyone expected he'd return to class Monday morning.

"What the teachers have, and his principal, have told me was that Austin was a very, very likable young man," said Georgetown Exempted Schools Superintendent, Tony Dunn. "He was a nice kid. And they're all very shocked by this, as we all are and very saddened by it."

Investigators have not given a motive, but did say the couple was going through a divorce.

The community is praying for the family.

Mrs. Planck's sister-in-law says the family didn't have insurance.

They've set-up a memorial fund for Ruby Ann and her son Austin.

If you'd like to help the family with burial expenses, you can make a donation at The National Bank and Trust Company in Georgetown and surrounding communities.
