Brenda Slaby still doesn't know how the terrible accident happened on August 23, but she does know the tragedy will torment her for the rest of her life.
Slaby opens up about the day her two-year-old daughter, Cecilia, died in an article published Friday morning in the Cincinnati Enquirer.
She talks about how she discovered the accident in detail saying, "The teacher that found her is a good friend of mine, and it didn't click when she said, 'The baby is in the car," Nesselroad-Slaby told the Enquirer.
"She said it again, and I just grabbed my keys and ran, and it was chaos from that moment. No one can ever imagine what it's like to pull your baby out of the car like that. I knew she was gone. My life will never be the same."
Slaby hopes to return to her position as an assistant principal at Glen Este Middle School. She remains on administrative leave while the school board reviews the case.
