A Cheviot man who told police he is a professional boxer was arrested on Thursday while attempting to attend an anti-violence meeting.
David Long, 37, was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Kentucky for failing to appear in court on a charge of drunk and reckless driving, according to Cincinnati police.
Long, according to an online biography, has a record of 6-1-1 in his fights. That same Web site claims Long has received two suspensions during his boxing career. One was last year with the Ohio Athletic Commission, while another was in 2006 with the Edmonton Athletic Commission. That bio lists Long's age as 36, with a different birth date than what he gave to police.
Police arrested Long at 12:30 Thursday afternoon as he was trying to attend a meeting of C.I.R.V., which stands for Cincinnati Initiative to Reduce Violence.
Police say he is facing a full extradition to Kentucky and is currently being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center.
