On the same day Congressional Democrats sent the White House a $15 billion loan to the big three automakers, a Blue Ash company is asking Congress to reconsider the bailout plan.

The money would come from an existing loan program meant to help build fuel-efficient vehicles.

Officials from a Blue Ash company that's already built a system that runs cars on 100% electricity were in Washington, D.C., trying to build their case for a loan from the same program.

Advanced Mechanical Products or the "AMP" system has been installed in a Saturn Sky and can travel 160 miles per charge.

Jack Kuntz, "AMP" president and CEO, is asking Congress not to re-purpose the funds to bailout the automakers.

Kuntz is asking for $20 million to produce 10,000 zero-emission electric vehicles in two years.

Kuntz told 9News he hopes to find out if his company received the loan by the end of the year.
