Web produced by: Laura HornsbyThe National Weather Service in Wilmington has issued a blizzard warning for the Tri-State, which will remain in effect until 4 p.m. Saturday.
The weather service says the major winter storm will continue to affect the Ohio Valley overnight Friday into Saturday. The storm will hit as a one-two punch, with the initial punch striking Friday, followed by a brief lull in the snow intensity this evening before picking up in intensity again overnight.
Winds will gust up to 40 miles-per-hour at times overnight. The winds combined with snow and blowing snow will cause extreme winter weather conditions.
