CINCINNATI, Ohio -- The Cincinnati Zoo has a big prize waiting for its one-millionth visitor this week.
As of Tuesday, the Zoo had more than 996,500 visitors. Zoo officials expect for the one-millionth visitor of the year to pass through the gates this week.
The lucky person will get a family membership, a gift certificate to the zoo shops, and a behind the scenes tour of the elephant area.
Officials say zoo attendance is up 23-percent this year. Gate attendance is up more than 183,000 visitors in 2009.
