CINCINNATI -- The Cincinnati Bengals looked to avoid back to back losses on Sunday at home against the Cleveland Browns.
The first quarter of the game was rather uneventful. The only score was a 37-yard field goal from Shayne Graham.
In the second quarter, the Bengals offense found the endzone. Carson Palmer found J.P. Foschi after a solid drive for a 10-0 lead.
Cleveland looked to stop the Bengals from scoring at the end of the first half, but the Browns were called for a horse collar tackle on Palmer as time expired in the first half. The penalty got the Bengals into field goal range. Graham converted the 53 yarder with no time left on the clock to give the Bengals the lead at the half 13-0.
The Browns drove down the field and scored early in the third. Brady Quinn capped the drive with a nine yard run to the endzone. The touchdown cut the Bengals lead to 13-7.
The Bengals offense got within striking distance in the third. The drive stalled deep into Cleveland territory, and they had to settle for a field goal to make the score 16-7.
Neither team got much of anything going in the fourth quarter and the Bengals won by the final score of 16-7.
For the first time in franchise history, the Bengals went 6-0 inside their division and improve to 8-3.
