Accused serial killer Anthony Kirkland will be going to trial.

During a special hearing at the Hamilton County Courthouse on Monday morning, Common Pleas Judge Charles Kubicki determined Kirkland is competent enough to stand trial for murder.

Kirkland is charged with three murders, in the deaths of Casonya Crawford, Mary Jo Newton and Esme Kenney.

In addition, the Hamilton County Prosecutor's Office is reportedly looking into whether Kirkland may have killed two other women. Kirkland has allegedly made statements about being involved in other murders, such as the one that took the life of Kimya Rolison.

Rolison's remains were found in a wooded area off of Pulte Street in North Fairmount last June. She was in her 20's and lived in Avondale before she was killed. A grand jury could indict Kirkland for her murder in the next 45 days.

Prosecutor Joe Deters says he plans on presenting new evidence about that within the next six weeks.

Kirkland's attorney, Norm Aubin, tells 9News he's only heard of one other possible murder that Kirkland may have talked about with prosecutors.

Kirkland's trial on the three murder charges is scheduled to begin on November 2.

His next scheduled court date is June 23.
