CINCINNATI - The search is continuing for the suspect who fatally stabbed a 93-year old woman in Roselawn Tuesday night, as she walked in front of her senior citizen complex.
It happened in the 1500-block of Summit Road where Ida Martin was stabbed-to-death, as she was taking a walk before nightfall.
Cincinnati police are looking to the public for help in finding her killer.
It happened just before 6 p.m., near the Summit East Senior complex, where Martin lived for more than 30 years.
Her family tells 9News, she had just celebrated her 93rd birthday in August.
Relatives say Martin had just recovered enough from recent neck surgery and rehab to walk by herself.
Witnesses to the stabbing say they saw a man approach Martin on the sidewalk, pull a white bandana over his face, and then start stabbing her at least four times. He is described as a black male, wearing a black jacket and blue jeans.
Martin was rushed to University Hospital, where she died in surgery two hours later.
Cincinnati police homicide detectives are now working the case.
Since the incident happened while it was still daylight and at the end of rush hour, detectives hope that drivers along Summit Road may have noticed something unusual as they drove by Tuesday evening.
